To provide onsite proximity services in accordance with the Birmingham City University (BCU) contract and expectations.
Day to day administration of the end user computing environment and delivery of associated services to the contractually agreed SLAs and KPIs.
Overall responsibility for building, testing and maintaining BCU’s gold images alongside the upgrade and continued maintenance of the SCCM platform currently in place.
Engineer will be primarily based at Birmingham City University.
Administration and maintenance of the client’s end user computing management service (SCCM).
To review workloads and priorities to ensure prompt completion of tasks to a high standard in accordance with organisational policies and guidance.
To ensure individual client records are maintained as directed, adhering to required standards for record keeping and Data Protection.
To build and maintain onsite documentation/processes and procedures.
To build and maintain client relationships, reducing barriers, promoting the skills and abilities of CDW, providing information, advice, guidance, and access to full range of company services and solutions.
• SCCM configuration, administration and servicing
• MDT Build and capture of OS images
• Testing of Windows 10 builds
• Build updates to gold image(s)
• Assist transition in to BAU support
• Image driver updates
• Patch Management of end user devices
Maintain a test environment, use test environment to test newly released patches for compatibility on the client’s infrastructure and make recommendations to the client of patches to roll out.
Manage and resolve incidents associated with the desktop management service including support of OS images, packaged applications, non-packaged application installations, anti-virus issues and alerts.
Document, track and monitor problem resolution ensuring timely resolution and clear communications with user throughout incident/service request life cycle.
Liaise with other team members/managers to resolve more complex problems, escalating where necessary.
Ensure that latest virus definition updates are pushed out to all end users, and that anti-virus policies are being adhered to.
Process new hardware requests, placing orders for new desktops and laptops via Service Track tool and ensuring that correct image/applications are installed on the devices and that all asset management tasks are completed.
Lead/Participate as required with project work, subject to agreement from the CDW Service Delivery Manager.
Participate in BAU support tasks where there is sufficient availability of the engineer and the tasks in question have been agreed by the CDW Service Delivery Manager.
• Education - GCSE or equivalent
• Technical - CDW L4.
• Full UK Driving License
• MCTS (Administering and Deploying System Centre 2012 Configuration Manager)
